Operations

  • Oversaw the construction and engineering of a 180,000 sq. ft. dispensing facility [Phoenix, AZ]
  • Completed reviews of all C-level executives for owners
  • Identified more than $23MM in annual  payroll savings in the Call Centers through productivity gains and call automation
  • Led Humana’s Pharmacy operations for nine months until a full-time replacement could be found [Cincinnati, OH]

  • Spearheaded the sales efforts to obtain clients for the company’s revolutionary software genetic analytics program
  • Found angel investors to fund the software development

2002 – 2005

  • Salvaged and saved nine of BioScrip’s ten biggest clients, which were considered in “jeopardy” status
  • Cut in excess of $2MM in operating and labor expenses by improving production efficiencies, workflow  planning and policy changes
  • Added well over $20MM in revenue through a Refill Reminder initiative 
  • Developed and implemented six Silverlink call programs resulting in handling a 25% increase in call volume without adding any personnel
  • Led the operations team in working with our in-house IT to purchase and then develop the TechRx source code for our own operations

1985 - 2000

  • Managed the day-to-day operations for Medco’s largest pharmacy (more than $1-Billion annual revenue)  [Columbus, OH]
  • Converted the pharmacy to the Merck-Medco operating systems from the FlexRx systems of Giant-Eagle[Pittsburgh, PA]
  • Improved all productivity and quality metrics from last to first (out of 13 pharmacies) in just three years [Pittsburgh, PA]
  • Developed the management team resulting in five members being promoted to senior management positions  [Pittsburgh, PA] 
  • Reduced the “team error” rate by over 50% [Pittsburgh, PA]
  • Co-developed with IT a new Inventory  Control system resulting in a 19% decrease in drug purchasing costs [Corporate]
  • Developed and produced the Company’s sales forecasts through collaboration with the Sales and Marketing Depts. resulting in improved capacity and staffing levels [Corporate]
  • Developed and implemented a workflow  and queue-based production and planning process, which is still in use today [Elmwood Park, NJ]
