As the founder of the Swim Global Project, Nathalie has led large-scale drowning prevention initiatives across North and South America, the Caribbean, Africa, and Australia. Her work has driven significant advancements in water safety education through targeted programming, policy advocacy, and innovative communication strategies.
Her dedication to water safety is particularly evident in Florida, where she serves as co-chair of the Water Smart Florida Task Force alongside the Florida Department of Health. She played a pivotal role in the development of the Swim Voucher Program, expanding access to swim lessons for children across the state. Additionally, through the Swim Global Project Ambassadors, Nathalie has established a global network of advocates representing India, Africa, South America, Australia, and North America, all working to implement lifesaving education and swimming programs in their respective communities.
With over three decades of experience in global drowning prevention, Nathalie’s contributions extend beyond international initiatives. She actively supports local drowning prevention efforts while also contributing to the International Life Saving Federation, ensuring that water safety strategies are implemented effectively at both grassroots and global levels. Her influence also spans strategic philanthropy, grant-making, and leveraging emerging technologies to amplify awareness and action in drowning prevention.
She is a committed volunteer and distinguished member of the Lifesaving Society, Canada, honored with a Service Bar by the Lieutenant Governor of Ontario for her exceptional contributions. Her leadership in research has resulted in a longstanding partnership with Toronto Metropolitan University, focused on advancing Occupational and Public Health and Safety research across Ontario.
Nathalie also co-founded the US Drowning Research Alliance and actively contributes to the United States Lifesaving Association and the Royal Life Saving Society (RLSS), further solidifying her impact in lifesaving initiatives worldwide.
